About Morris Music Academy
Morris Music Academy was founded on a simple but powerful belief: that music education should be accessible, excellent, and genuinely transformative. Located in the heart of Jacksonville Beach and founded in 2011, we have spent more than 15 years serving students across Jacksonville, Jacksonville Beach, Ponte Vedra, and the surrounding communities — helping children, teens, and adults discover what they are truly capable of through music.
Who We Are
We are not a franchise. We are not a big-box music chain. Morris Music Academy is an independent, locally owned studio led by professional musicians and degreed music educators who are deeply invested in this community. Our founder and director, Tracy Morris, is a professional saxophonist, a former Duval County Public Schools educator, and the Director of Educational Programming for Beaches Fine Arts Series — bringing together world-class musical expertise and a lifelong commitment to arts education in Northeast Florida.
What We Offer
We provide private lessons in piano, voice, guitar, violin, saxophone, clarinet, flute, trumpet, bass, and most band and orchestra instruments — for students as young as three and adults of any age. Every lesson is tailored to the individual. Whether your goal is to prepare for a school audition, perform on a professional stage, or simply enjoy playing music for the very first time, we build a plan around you.
All lessons are available in-studio at our Jacksonville Beach location or online via Zoom. No contracts. No long-term commitments. Just great instruction, month to month.
Our Teaching Philosophy
We believe fundamentals and fun are not opposites. Every student at Morris Music Academy learns proper technique, music theory, ear training, and sight reading — but they also learn the songs they love and perform for real audiences through our annual recital series at St. Paul’s by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Jacksonville Beach. Music is meant to be played and shared, and we make sure every student experiences both.

In both 2017 and 2025, Morris Music Academy presented full recitals at Carnegie Hall, featuring our students and faculty performing together on one of the most prestigious stages on earth. It is a distinction that very few independent music academies anywhere in the country can claim, and a powerful statement about the standard of excellence we hold for every student who walks through our doors.
